The East Meadow Union Free School District will post its revised districtwide school safety plan to begin a 30-day public review period after the meeting, a business office official said, in order to incorporate a new requirement under Dacia's Law.
Ms. Frisenda explained there was no action for the board tonight; the posting will appear on the district website (on the athletics page maintained by Jason Supple) and the board is scheduled to reapprove the plan in January after the 30-day period ends.
Dacia's Law requires safety plans to include a measurement for sudden cardiac arrest incidents; Frisenda said the district will add that language and make the revised plan available for public comment. Trustees expressed support for the inclusion and thanked the business office staff for preparing the posting.
No vote was taken; staff directed interested parties to contact Mr. Supple in the athletics office with questions during the review period.
The board expects to take formal action on the plan after the required posting period.
