Entertainment Commission adopts teleconference findings under state law

The San Francisco Entertainment Commission voted unanimously on June 21 to adopt a resolution making findings to allow teleconference meetings under California Government Code section 54953(e). The motion was moved and seconded during the commission’s regular meeting and carried by roll call vote of the commissioners present.

The resolution formalizes the commission’s ability to hold hybrid hearings — in person at City Hall Room 416 and remotely via Zoom or telephone — while observing public-participation and health protocols. Commission staff reminded the public that comment is limited to three minutes and explained how in-person and remote speakers would be called.

No public comment was offered on the item before the vote. Commission staff said the findings track current state guidance and allow the Entertainment Commission to continue meeting with remote participation while following public-notice and access requirements.

The commission recorded the vote by roll call and the resolution was adopted. Staff indicated it will continue to post meeting access details and public-comment procedures on the commission’s web page and meeting notices.
