San Francisco Entertainment Commission staff reported enforcement actions and follow-up checks for two businesses during the Feb. 6 meeting.
Senior inspector reported that Trinity Irish Bar & Restaurant (1851 Union Street) was cited after operating entertainment past the LLP permit limit (11 p.m.) on Dec. 30. Staff found event flyers promoting a DJ beyond approved hours. Because Trinity had three citations within a 90‑day period, Executive Director Weiland issued a 15‑day administrative suspension effective Jan. 12–27, 2024; management did not contest the suspension and inspectors confirmed no entertainment during compliance checks on Jan. 13 and Jan. 20.
Inspector Zelenak also reported that White Rabbit (3138 Fillmore Street) exceeded its approved external sound limit during a Jan. 20 inspection. The approved limit was cited as 102 dBc and inspectors measured an average of 109 dBc; staff worked with on‑site management to reduce volume but issued a notice of violation on Jan. 22, 2024.
Staff said they will continue monitoring both businesses and respond to complaints. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about inspection frequency and next steps; neighbors and applicants may appear at future hearings if further enforcement action is necessary.
