Commission confirms two advisory appointments and approves meeting minutes

At the Oct. 19 special meeting, commissioners moved and seconded approval of the Sept. 7 meeting minutes and adopted them by voice vote.

Later in the agenda, the nomination committee summary and two applicants were presented. Commissioner Christine Evans moved to appoint Javier Santiago Bremond to the Shelter Grievance Advisory Committee (seat 11); the motion was seconded and approved by roll call. Acting Chair Sharkey Laguana, Commissioner Christine Evans, Commissioner Joaquin Guerrero and Commissioner Dina Aslanyan Williams each recorded "Aye." The commission then voted to place Catherine Jane Ross on the Shelter Monitoring Committee (seat 2) by roll call with the same recorded support. Both candidates addressed the commission and public commenters, and commissioners thanked the nominees for stepping forward to fill vacancies.
