Health Commission approves teleconference findings, accepts $115,000 Epic Systems gift and a charitable bequest

The San Francisco Health Commission approved several action items during its meeting.

The Commission voted to adopt the recurring resolution making findings to allow teleconference meetings under California Government Code provisions; staff said the text is the same 30‑day renewal the Commission has considered each month.

Eric Raffin, DPH chief information officer, presented a resolution to accept and expend a $115,000 philanthropic gift from Epic Systems Corporation to support Epic electronic health-record upgrades, equipment and training for DPH's safety-net sites. A motion to approve the gift was made and passed on a roll-call vote.

Staff also presented a recommendation to accept a bequest from the estate of Janet D. Kramer naming Laguna Honda Hospital as beneficiary of a retirement plan. William Fraser explained the Office of the Public Administrator notified Laguna Honda of the bequest and said the plan had a value of about $81,065 as of Feb. 7; the Commission recommended acceptance to the Board of Supervisors.

The Commission approved the consent calendar (including multiple contract extensions and new contracts reviewed by the Finance & Planning Committee) and adjourned. All action items passed on roll-call votes during the meeting.
