The San Francisco Health Commission adopted two resolutions honoring senior Department of Public Health leaders and approved the consent calendar.
Commissioners presented a resolution honoring Dr. Hallie Hammer for nearly 30 years of service overseeing ambulatory care and building the San Francisco Health Network. Roland Pickens and multiple commissioners recounted Dr. Hammer 's role in implementing Healthy San Francisco, clinic renovations and pandemic response. The commission moved, heard commissioner tributes and approved the resolution by roll-call vote. Dr. Hammer thanked colleagues, named Dr. Albert Yu as acting director of ambulatory care, and said she would retire to spend time with family.
The commission also adopted a resolution honoring Greg Wagner for his leadership as DPH chief financial officer and chief operating officer, citing his stewardship of the department's $3,000,000,000 budget, the department's Epic implementation and his interim service as acting health director. Grant Colfax introduced the resolution and commissioners praised Wagner 's calm leadership; Wagner said he looked forward to serving the city as controller and pledged continued partnership with DPH.
Later the commission approved the consent calendar by roll call after a public comment urging prioritization of wheelchair repairs for Laguna Honda patients. All votes on the items presented were recorded as affirmative by the commissioners on the dais.
