At the Oct. 17 meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, the board took a series of formal actions: it approved Resolution 23-113 authorizing outside counsel to represent the county in a declaratory-judgment matter about statewide mills, set a public hearing on a board-of-viewers report related to abandoning part of North 21 Road, approved several claims, and approved the consent agenda.
Speaker 1 introduced Resolution 23-113 and Speaker 2 moved to approve "resolution 23-113, authorizing Mako to represent the interest of the county in seeking a declaratory judgment from the Montana Supreme Court regarding statewide mills." Speaker 1 seconded the motion. The board called for votes, recorded ayes and Speaker 1 announced the resolution had passed.
On Resolution 23-112, Speaker 1 announced the motion to set a public hearing on the board-of-viewers report concerning abandonment of a portion of North 21 Road. Speaker 2 moved to set the public hearing for Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. in Room 3108; Speaker 1 seconded. The motion passed when the board voted in favor.
Speaker 2 moved to approve claims listed as 24-047, 24-048, 24-049 and 24-050; Speaker 1 seconded and the board approved the claims. Speaker 2 then moved to approve the consent agenda and place file items to file; Speaker 1 seconded and the board approved the consent agenda.
The board asked for public comments on county business; none were offered, and Speaker 1 adjourned the meeting. The actions recorded in this article reflect motions, seconds and the vote calls as stated on the record during the Oct. 17 meeting.
