The commission adopted the minutes from the 10/26/2023 meeting and approved a request to vacate roughly 300 feet of street and alley right-of-way to allow an applicant to combine two properties.
Staff reported the streets and alley in question were never developed and contain no utilities; the applicant owns three properties and sought to combine two parcels to gain more developable land. Staff said notices were sent to neighbors and that, after explaining the request, "everyone we spoke to ... were all in favor of it," although no comment forms were returned for or against. The traffic commission previously approved the vacation during its October meeting. "We are recommending approval with no conditions," staff said.
Public comment was opened and no members of the public spoke for or against the vacation. A motion to approve the vacation passed on a roll-call vote with recorded 'Yes' responses from Tim Doyle, Pat Lilly, Tim Lager, Penny Poor and Allison Shannon. The commission noted both items decided at the meeting will be forwarded to City Council for final action; staff indicated the deadline to submit materials to council is tomorrow.
The minutes approval was likewise moved, seconded and adopted by roll-call vote. The commission adjourned at the end of the agenda; the transcript does not specify the meeting date or the City Council hearing date.
