The Madison County Board of Supervisors approved a series of routine resolutions and permits during their meeting, including personnel wage changes, infrastructure agreements and event licenses.
Among the actions approved were: a wage adjustment setting an employee identified as Kelly’s annual salary at $66,000 effective April 2 (approved by motion), two EMS longevity wage adjustments, and appointments including Josh Rainey to the Civil Service Commission. The board also approved resolutions seeking grant funding for covered‑bridge preservation and accepted federal aid agreements for bridge projects identified as BROS CO 61‑31 and BROS CO 61‑32. The county granted use of Monument Park for the farmers market (May 11–Oct. 5) and approved a liquor and wine license for Brick Caterers at the Jackson Building on May 25 for a John Wayne event.
Most motions were moved and seconded by supervisors Diane and Heather and carried by voice vote. One motion adopting elected official salaries for FY '25 recorded a ‘nay’ from a supervisor but nevertheless carried.
The board also set a public hearing for a FY '24 budget amendment on May 14 at 10:00 and confirmed appointments to an opioid task force. No formal roll‑call vote sheets were introduced in the meeting transcript; the board recorded voice votes on each item.
