Resident praises DPW, raises safety and tax concerns during Woodbridge public comment

John John Wertari Guipich used the public-comment period to both thank township public workers for recent snow removal and to raise several public-safety and fiscal concerns.

Guipich opened by congratulating public works crews for their response to two recent snowstorms, saying residents were pleased with the work: "You did a great job. Congratulations," he said. He then described safety risks he sees on Route 35, saying drivers "drive 40 miles an hour" and push snow up against buildings, which he worried could cause injuries.

He also questioned local tax policy related to ongoing development, asking, "If the mayor is building everything and paying for everything, why are you raising the school property tax?" and telling the council that residents worry developments are increasing demand for services "but they're not paying the shared share model taxes," a claim he raised without a direct response on the record during public comment.

Guipich's remarks combined praise for municipal crews with appeals for enforcement and fairness in tax and development policy. Council members did not provide extended replies during public comment; the council closed the public-comment portion after his remarks and returned to the regular agenda.

The council did not take formal action on the development or tax concerns during the meeting; any follow-up would require placement on a future agenda or referral to staff.
