The council moved several ordinances through their required readings and votes during the meeting.
By consent the council advanced and adopted ordinances designated letters a, b and d concerning traffic restrictions at 10 Main Street, parking restrictions on North James Street, and a taxi stand at Metropark. The chair opened and closed the public hearing on those items after no public comments were offered and the ordinances were adopted.
Letter c, an ordinance approving a new traffic signal on New Dover Road at Colonial Boulevard, was also taken up on second and third reading; the public hearing was opened and closed without comment and the council adopted the ordinance.
Letter e, a redevelopment ordinance for the Woodbridge Bowling Center site, drew questions from a resident about the planned use (a storage facility) and potential impacts to a nearby stream and culvert. Township staff said culvert improvements and EPA consultation have taken place and that the site is suitable for the proposed storage use. After a motion and second, the public hearing was closed and the ordinance was adopted.
Letter f was passed on first reading with publication and a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The council also approved Resolution 1240 by consent.
No ordinance was tabled or defeated at the meeting; items taken by consent carried on unanimous voice votes as recorded by the chair.
