Jim Evans, executive director of America's Freedom Festival, briefed the county commission on the festival's schedule, logistics and sponsorships and asked the commission to approve the standing agreement for the event.
Evans said the festival will run across three days (July 3–5) with the gala on July 2 and fireworks on July 4. He said organizers expect a full slate of 30 events and estimated about 600,000 total participants across all festival activities based on surveys and past attendance. Evans described volunteer participation, sponsor support and efforts to keep many events free or affordable for families. He noted ticket prices for certain events will remain at last year's levels.
Commissioners thanked the festival staff for community engagement and for coordinating with county departments on logistics; a motion to approve the item passed unanimously.
Why it matters: The Freedom Festival is a major summer event that draws visitors and supports local businesses; county approval clarifies support and helps organizers coordinate venues, traffic and public‑works needs.
Next steps: County public-works and event partners will continue planning with festival organizers to protect grounds and coordinate staging and cleanup.
