Board approves routine personnel, housekeeping, schedule and committee actions

The Fountain Hills Unified School Board approved a series of routine motions at its regular meeting, including personnel actions, annual housekeeping items, the updated 2023–24 board meeting schedule and a revised counselor job description.

The board approved the personnel report after a brief question period; one board member said they would abstain and handle specific questions outside the public meeting. The minutes listed a vote count of three yes and one abstention for the minutes approval and a similar 3–0–1 pattern was recorded for at least one personnel motion.

Board members also approved combined annual housekeeping items in a single motion, agreed to move the June meeting from June 19 to June 18 and approved the updated counselor job description after discussing a clarification shifting the counselor scope to educational support rather than clinical services.

The board moved to reinstate the Facilities Use Advisory Committee and subsequently voted for a board representative to sit on that committee. Several items were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
