Woodbridge Township Council conducted routine business and approved several agenda items during the meeting.
The council voted to approve minutes from March 5 and the special meeting of March 12. President Anderson moved to take two traffic-ordinance amendments (letters a and b) addressing handicap parking on Church Street and Madeline Drive on second and third reading; the public hearing was opened, no public comment was offered on those items, and the ordinances were adopted and submitted to the mayor for approval as required by law.
An item listed as letter c under second readings was moved and carried to be abandoned by unanimous voice vote. The council also passed two first-reading ordinances and agreed to publish them in The Home on Friday, March 22, with a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 6 p.m.
President Anderson moved to approve resolutions numbered 1 through 26 by consent; Speaker 5 announced an abstention on number 3. The consent vote otherwise carried by voice vote.
No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript beyond voice votes of 'Aye.' The meeting proceeded to an extended public-comment period and a series of council announcements after the formal votes.
What’s next: Adopted ordinances will be submitted to the mayor for approval; the two first-reading ordinances will be published and are scheduled for public hearing on April 2, 2024.
