The Woodbridge Township Council on Tuesday adopted several ordinances and approved a package of resolutions during its regular meeting.
On the second reading the council adopted letter a, an ordinance appropriating $2,500,000 to pay for costs related to information technology and utility‑related expenses; the public hearing drew no comments and the ordinance was adopted by voice vote. Council then took up letter b, an amendment to Chapter 7 (traffic) to designate handicap parking on Camelot Drive and William Street; the hearing was opened and closed with no public comment and the ordinance was adopted by voice vote.
Council considered letter c, the Woodbridge Area 6 redevelopment plan. A resident asked about location, the removal of two homes and potential tax consequences; Mayor John McCormick said the homes are being repurposed for additional parking and tax treatment would follow standard zoning and board procedures. After questions were addressed the council adopted the redevelopment ordinance.
The council also moved to adopt letters d–j as first readings and scheduled their public hearings for June 11, 2024. A consent calendar motion approved 26 resolutions; President Anderson noted one or two abstentions on specific items (an abstention on item 11 and another on resolution 29 were recorded). Later in the meeting, after an executive session, the council approved three personnel resolutions (nos. 28–30) related to division supervisors.
Procedural items included approval of the minutes from 05/07/2024 (motion, second and aye votes recorded). A motion to go into executive session to discuss bargaining‑unit agreements was made and carried; council returned and approved personnel motions and closed the meeting.
The meeting record shows routine procedural compliance: notice of the public meeting was posted as required and the public hearing dates for first readings were announced.
