At its meeting the Fountain Hills Unified School Governing Board approved a slate of routine and programmatic items.
Personnel: Following a motion and second, the board approved a personnel action as presented; the new hire (name announced in the meeting) was welcomed aboard.
Marching band PE waiver: The board approved a change so that students who participate in marching band receive a waiver of the district PE graduation requirement rather than being awarded an extra PE credit; staff explained the change was intended to be cleaner administratively while recognizing marching band workload.
Student trips: The board approved a student trip to Japan and the Sister Cities trip to Poland with standard oversight and presentations from trip organizers; members asked about timing and outreach to students before finalizing arrangements.
Little Falcons preschool: The board approved 24-25 preschool pricing adjustments and adopted the preschool handbook after brief discussion.
Authorized signers: The board agreed to revised wording on authorized bank-account signers for the remainder of the school year and will revisit authorized signers for 24-25 at the May meeting.
Each item passed following motions with seconds and voice votes; where applicable staff were asked to return with more detailed implementation information at future meetings.
