Chris Alexander and other administrators described an RFP process that led to continuing IT services through an outside provider after the district moved away from an internal five‑person IT team. "We've had a very smooth 18 months, working with FruitGroup," a presenter said, and staff argued outsourcing is more cost‑effective than rehiring multiple in‑house positions. The administration said the vendor assists with cybersecurity, backups and audit corrective work and can scale during high‑demand periods such as Chromebook distribution.
