Board acknowledges Kids Unlimited White City charter termination and waives 180‑day notice requirement

Superintendent and staff told the board they had received formal notice that Kids Unlimited White City would terminate its charter at the end of the school year. The superintendent said the charter sent a formal letter and that the district anticipates approximately 97–98 students may return to district schools if the charter closes.

The board moved to waive the 180‑day notice requirement specified in the Kids Unlimited White City charter contract. A motion was made and seconded; roll-call votes were recorded and the motion carried. Board members voting yes in the recorded roll call included Missus McIntyre, Mister Stone, Missus Strittenberg, Mister Wolf and Mister Graves.

Next steps: With the waiver approved, district staff will proceed with administrative steps associated with the charter’s termination and prepare for possible enrollment shifts and classroom assignments as the district addresses capacity and resource needs for returning students.
