The Yellowstone County Board of Commissioners approved a set of routine administrative items during its Aug. 29 meeting, including Resolution 23‑96 (fiscal year 23–24 rural special improvement maintenance districts assessment), the listed claims, and the consent agenda.
Chair (Unidentified Speaker 1) called for motions. Commissioner Jones was asked to make a motion on Resolution 23‑96 and moved for approval as stated; the motion was seconded by Speaker 2 and the board voted 'aye' to approve. Later, Speaker 3 moved to approve claims (several claim numbers were read into the record) and the board approved them by voice vote. Commissioner Morse moved to approve the consent agenda and place file items on file; a second was heard and the motion passed by voice vote.
The meeting also opened and left public hearings on fiscal 2023–24 budget matters and related grant budgets open until next week; the board said it would return to those hearings for final action. No public testimony was recorded during the Aug. 29 meeting on those budget items.
Next steps: the board will reconvene the open public hearings next week and then consider final votes on budget adoption and special district levies.
