Commissioners rescind, resend March 31 resolution to pause new budget-officer designation; items pass 2-0

The Utah County Commission voted to rescind and resend a March 31 resolution that had designated a new county budget officer and rescind related staff moves, saying the pause will allow additional stakeholder discussion.

The presiding commissioner explained the intent: "[to] resend those resolutions to allow for a pause and to allow additional discussions from stakeholders who have expressed both positive and negative insights on those proposals," noting the county had received recent feedback from stakeholders.

Commissioner Jason Lee moved to approve regular agenda items 1 and 2, which would adopt the rescinding/resending resolution and rescind prior actions tied to staff moves; the presiding commissioner seconded the motion. The commission recorded the vote as passing "2 0." No additional public comment was recorded on those items.

The commission then adjourned the meeting.
