Commission continues farmstead‑estate ordinance and refers caretaker‑dwelling amendment to Planning Commission

On Nov. 10 the Utah County Commission continued, without date, an ordinance to add "farmstead estate" as a permitted use in the county's mining and grazing zones and separately referred proposed text changes on farm caretaker dwellings to the Utah County Planning Commission.

Gregor Adams asked to continue item 21 without date so it could be considered alongside a related item; his motion to continue item 21 was seconded and approved. For item 22, a commissioner moved to refer the caretaker‑dwelling ordinance text amendment back to the planning commission for consideration; the motion was seconded and passed, recorded by staff as "passes 3‑0." Staff noted the Planning Commission's next meeting is scheduled in December and that a referral could mean the earliest return to the commission might be early January.

The board did not take final action on item 21 and will await further planning‑commission review and any staff revisions before future consideration.
