Commission approves short, retroactive amendment to disinfecting-services contract

The Utah County Commission approved a short, retroactive amendment to an agreement with R and B Services to extend disinfecting services for the Administration Building through Feb. 15. The item was held and discussed during the regular session on March 2.

Commissioner Lee asked why the amendment was necessary when he believed disinfecting services had already been discontinued. County staff explained that the original agreement formally ended in December, but the contractor continued providing disinfecting services through Feb. 15 and that staff sent notice requesting the vendor stop once the lapse was identified; the amendment formalizes that interval and balances compensation.

An unidentified commissioner moved to approve and authorize the amended agreement and another commissioner seconded. The motion to approve the amendment passed by roll call with the vote recorded as 3–0.
