Utah County commissioners approve elections vendor and grant a rollback‑tax appeal; adopt law‑enforcement resolution

At the start of the meeting the commission read a previously distributed resolution expressing support for Utah County law enforcement during National Police Week; the three commissioners present voted to adopt the resolution.

The board then approved a contract with Global Mobile to provide a voter communication platform and on‑the‑ground tip line for election security. Josh from the elections office said the system will allow voters to text "UtahCounty" to 45995 to report concerns; the contract passed on a 3–0 vote.

Later in the meeting commissioners heard an appeals request related to a Green Belt rollback tax payment. County staff explained that a guaranteed worksheet (an estimate used to provide certainty in closings) had a 30‑day validity window; a closing delay and worksheet expiry produced a higher rollback calculation. The treasurer’s office said the payment check had been delayed and processed months after it was prepared. Commissioners debated intent and timeliness, noted the difference involved roughly $29,881, and voted 3–0 to grant the waiver/appeal.
