Utah County recognizes Kara Moody as employee of the month; fixes consent-agenda labels

The Utah County Board of Commissioners opened its Feb. 1 meeting with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, then recognized Kara Moody as the county’s employee of the month.

Speaker 1 read peer remarks praising Moody’s technical skill, helpfulness and upbeat attitude, saying staff and volunteers in senior services appreciate her work. Speaker 1 noted peers described Moody’s “superpower” as being able to fix technical or mechanical problems and commended her for answering public questions about senior services resources. Kara Moody responded briefly, thanking the board.

During the consent-agenda review, Speaker 3 identified two clerical corrections: Item 8 should be labeled Change Order 2 (not Change Order 1) and Item 9 should be Change Order 5 (not 4). Commissioners agreed to those corrections and to table Item 15 for later discussion. The board also confirmed appointments to the Board of Health without further comment.

Speaker 1 announced the board planned closed sessions for items 33, 36 and 37 and struck items 34 and 35 from the agenda; the clerk restated those holds and approvals for the record. After the closed-session period the board reconvened, took Item 15 off the table and later approved it by a vote recorded elsewhere in the meeting.

The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that passed unanimously.
