Commission appoints three to Soldier Summit board; landowner and builder among appointees

The Utah County Commission on March 8 approved appointments to the Soldier Summit board, naming two four‑year appointees and one two‑year appointee.

Commissioners discussed the nomination slate (brought back after a closed session) and noted the desire for a mix of representation: a large local landowner, an existing board member to provide continuity, and a builder with practical project experience. In public comment, Darren Dusenup identified himself as a Soldier Summit landowner and said the region needs a diversified board to address municipal hookups, financing, and construction needs.

Ben Venoy moved the item; the motion recorded in the meeting named Darren Dusenup and Mike Taylor as four-year appointees and David Sedgwick as a two-year appointee. The motion was seconded and passed 3–0.

Commissioners recorded no objections and closed the item with unanimous approval.
