At the March 7 meeting the Yellowstone County commissioners handled several procedural items: they opened bids for pre-demolition asbestos abatement of the Former Sheriff's Building and referred the three bids to staff for recommendation; they set a Montana Department of Commerce Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) first public hearing for March 21, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 3108; and they approved claims and the consent agenda.
Bid details recorded at the meeting: Schroeder Contracting submitted a bid of $108,800; Environmental Contractors submitted $63,636 (meeting notes indicated a missing bid bond); Safetec submitted a bid of $93,800 and included a bid bond. The board moved to refer all three bids to staff for review and recommendation.
Tom McLean of Big Sky Economic Development presented the CDBG notice and asked the board to approve publication; the board set the first public hearing for March 21 and approved publication dates. Later in the meeting the board approved claims batches and the consent agenda by voice vote.
No final contract awards or budget appropriations were made at the meeting; procurement decisions were referred to staff for recommendation.
