Commissioners hear ARPA-funded Metropark infrastructure update; VIP lot complete

County staff and contractor representatives updated the Board of County Commissioners on Aug. 22 about ARPA-funded infrastructure work at Metropark. The presenter said project 1 (the VIP lot) is complete, project 2 is at substantial completion, and project 3 — the Bridal parking lot — is slated to begin next.

Shane, described in the record as the owner’s representative, and contractor representatives including Greg commended Askin/"Asking" Construction and subcontractors for meeting timelines under difficult conditions. Shane called project 2 “one of the best-run projects I’ve been involved with,” crediting team professionalism and a strong owner’s-rep–contractor partnership.

Chad Hassler, who identified himself as the project manager, named on-site staff: utility superintendent Eric Coates and surface superintendent Jerry Mader. Greg also singled out subcontractors such as Mark Sokolowski with ACE Electric and Montana Fence for helpful work on the property.

Speakers noted some unplanned, locally driven improvements: one participant said on-site staff removed an unnecessary surface that improved appearance, and boulders placed on-site were turned into an aesthetic feature. Commissioners thanked the team, took photographs and closed the presentation.
