The Yellowstone County Board of County Commissioners on April 11 approved two resolutions to organize the County Compensation Board and schedule public hearings on elected officials’ salaries for fiscal year 2024.
Unidentified Speaker 1 introduced Resolution 23-53, which mandates annual formation of the County Compensation Board and provides a mechanism for appointments and public notices. Commissioner Jones was asked to make the motion; an unidentified commissioner moved to approve Resolution 23-53 and the board adopted it by voice vote.
The board then approved Resolution 23-54 of intent to convene the County Compensation Board and set two public hearings to receive recommendations on elected officials’ compensation for fiscal year 2024. The hearings were scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2023, and Tuesday, June 6, 2023, both at 10:00 a.m. in Room 3108. Commissioners approved the resolution by voice vote.
No changes to the hearing dates or procedure were recorded at the meeting; commissioners took no additional action beyond approving the resolutions.
