Indian Cliffs residents ask county to keep volunteer road committee and approve no-parking resolution

During public comment on county business, several Indian Cliffs residents described a long-running ad hoc road committee that organized a resident-funded repaving project and ongoing maintenance. Residents asked the commission to adopt a no-parking resolution at a closed barricade on Iroquois Trail and to preserve the existing volunteer committee rather than replace members or send ballots for new membership.

Dave Marble, chair of the Indian Cliffs Ad Hoc Road Committee, said residents paid $1.7 million for repaving and have overseen snow plowing, weed cutting and chip sealing. He asked the county to erect no-parking signs at the road-closed barricade to allow sheriff’s officers to enforce violations and to avoid disrupting an effective committee.

Several other residents, including Sharon Marble, Jake Cinco, David French and Jody Janisek, echoed those requests and described increased recreational traffic, safety concerns for children and pets, and alleged misinformation circulating in the neighborhood. Jody Janisek urged the board to move forward with the community vote from September 8 that supported the no-parking resolution. Speakers asked for clarity on the committee’s authority and for the county to follow through on previously promised signage and barriers.

The commission did not announce a decision on the specific no-parking resolution during the recorded meeting; Chair closed comment and adjourned after residents finished.
