Commission recommends vacation of 225 feet of right-of-way for Nestle Purina corner parcel

The Planning Commission recommended that City Council approve a request by Nestle Purina to vacate 225 feet of a strangely shaped right-of-way at the northeast corner of 40502 Stockyards Expressway.

City staff explained the vacation will regularize the corner by converting the irregular public right-of-way into a private property area while retaining public utility access through a matching utility easement. Missouri American Water signed off on the proposal provided the easement preserves access to an existing water line. The applicant also proposes installing a sidewalk to improve walkability around the parcel.

No public opposition was recorded at the Planning Commission hearing. Commissioners voted to forward the vacation to City Council with a recommendation of approval; the council will make the final decision.
