At its public meeting the Fountain Hills Unified School District governing board approved a set of routine actions including a budget revision, adoption of an instructional curriculum, and acceptance of three certified‑staff resignations.
Budget Revision No.1: Superintendent Glass introduced the revision and Finance staff (Ms. King) presented details about minor changes driven by updated student counts and state action. Presenters noted a small change in weighted student count (adopted budget 1,170; revision 1,172) and modest M&O and capital adjustments; Prop 301 classroom site‑fund receipts and a modest increase in employer/employee Arizona State Retirement System contribution rates were referenced. The board moved and approved Budget Revision 1 by voice vote.
Curriculum adoption: Trustees noted two public hearings and a 60‑day review on the instructional curriculum and voted to adopt the curriculum as presented in hearings held 10/06/2021 and 11/10/2021. Administration recommended continuing the current curriculum and convening a review committee to consider the two items of feedback received during the review period.
Resignations and waiver: The board considered resignation requests included in the personnel packet (pp.67–69). Superintendent Glass moved approval of Melissa Miller's resignation and a waiver of a $1,500 liquidated‑damages fee; the motion passed. The board also accepted resignation requests from Nicole Moreno and Irina Evans (no waivers indicated). Motions were made and seconded and were approved by voice vote.
All measures recorded in the meeting were approved by voice vote; the public record in the board packet provides the supporting materials for the budget and personnel actions.
