Carmel board recognizes students accepted to regional and state music ensembles

The meeting opened with the board recognizing hundreds of students selected for regional and state music ensembles. Music staff called students from Carmel High School and the middle school accepted into Area All-State, New York State School Band Directors Association All-State, and other honor groups, and the board paused for group photographs.

Superintendent and trustees praised teachers and music directors for their work. The board's student liaison also reported school events and senior activities, including FBLA's third-place finish at the New York State conference, the 40th annual high school art show, Seal of Biliteracy recipients, and Special Olympics pep rally activities.

Trustees and administrators thanked music educators and parents for their support and noted the recognition as a community highlight.
