Council approves $802,000 CMMS subscription for asset tracking, split across departments

The Metropolitan Council on Nov. 25 approved a five-year subscription agreement with TruePoint Solutions LLC for a cloud-based computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), not to exceed $802,000.

Presenters told the council the system will track work orders and tie maintenance to assets such as pump stations so staff can see lifecycle costs and make data-driven replacement decisions. The presenter said the fee is population-based and will ramp over five years. Cost allocation described in the meeting: approximately 69% of the fee to drainage, 20% to environmental services, and 11% to transportation/drainage; implementation/customization and reporting setup account for an estimated $250,000 of the total award.

Councilwoman Adams moved the item; Councilwoman Amorosa seconded and the motion carried. Staff said this procurement will allow the city to better track maintenance spend and asset life-cycle costs across departments.

What happens next: The vendor and departments will proceed with implementation and customized reporting; departments will monitor deployment and budget allocations across the three cost centers.
