City finance staff briefs Centennial Commission on FY2026 standing and five-year projection

City of Las Vegas finance staff presented the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial’s financial standing as of Oct. 31, 2025, during the Nov. 24 meeting.

Paul Brosnahan, senior financial analyst, reviewed quarterly receipts, program expenditures and a five-year cash projection. Brosnahan reported the first quarterly DMV payment “a total of $842,000 $540” and showed an annualized projection of approximately $1.69 million compared with the adopted budget. He said interest earnings in the first four months totaled nearly $80,000 and annualized to about $240,000. Program expenses through the first four months were described (approximately $534,000) along with general and administrative expenses (reported at about $76,001.63), and publicly funded projects were itemized (parade costs, documentary expenses and others).

Commissioners asked for additional detail on how administrative, legal and advertising charges were classified relative to the $180,000 operating-agreement line item. Staff said they would investigate specific charges, pull up five years of advertising detail and send the information to the commission staff contact for distribution. Commissioners also requested a top-10 license-plate comparison and historical revenue breakdowns for years showing gaps in reported interest income; staff said they would provide those data.

Takeaway: staff provided a descriptive financial update and committed to follow-up on the operating agreement charges and the license-plate revenue history. There was no formal action; the item was informational only.
