Post Falls introduces incoming parks director Chris Ammerman, to start Dec. 15

City Administrator Shelly Innerud announced Nov. 25 that Chris Ammerman has been selected as Post Falls’ next parks and recreation director and will begin work Dec. 15.

Innerud said the city used Prothman, an external recruiting firm, to screen candidates and that an administrative panel (including the mayor and council president), a department head panel and interviews narrowed the field before the city negotiated with Ammerman. "Chris is very excited about transitioning to Post Falls, and we look forward to welcoming Chris to the city team," Innerud said.

Ammerman was described as an experienced parks and recreation leader who has served as parks and rec director in Wilsonville, Oregon, and began his career in Roseburg, Oregon. Innerud noted Ammerman is a certified parks and recreation professional and a graduate of Oregon State University. The city plans to formally introduce Ammerman to the commission after his first day.

No formal personnel vote was recorded at the commission meeting; Innerud provided the hiring update and invited questions from commissioners.
