Monroe council holds closed session for city manager performance evaluation

Monroe — The City Council convened a special meeting during which members voted to enter a closed executive session to conduct the city manager’s performance evaluation.

Councilman Felder moved and Councilwoman Stringham seconded a motion to go into a closed executive session “for the purpose of city manager performance evaluation.” Clerk called the roll and all present voted yes.

City counsel noted that the city manager had communicated, via email to staff, his desire for the session to continue in closed session. The council later voted to return to open session by unanimous vote and immediately closed the special meeting. No public details of the evaluation were discussed in the open record.
