At the Nov. 20 meeting the airport manager presented operational updates including October fuel sales, current pump prices, progress on an avgas transition and the fuel‑farm procurement path.
The manager said October sales were about 2,280.2 gallons of 100LL, 2,848 gallons of Jet A and 140.6 gallons of unleaded 94. Current posted pump prices in the packet were $4.63 for self‑service Avgas, $4.78 for full‑service Avgas, $3.90 for Jet A and $6.45 for self‑service unleaded 94.
On fuel type transition, the manager said representatives at the recent Aviation Indiana conference told the airport that a 100‑octane unleaded fuel (100R) was nearing FAA approval and that suppliers intend to phase out UL94 once approved. “They were hoping by the end of the year,” the manager said of FAA approval timelines, and explained the supplier offered to stage deliveries so existing UL94 stock could be replaced by 100R on the same truck when the product is ready.
The manager also reported that weights‑and‑measures tested meters and issued compliance stickers, described a multi‑meter layout for truck and self‑service dispensers, and noted the Avgas truck requires radiator and brake‑booster work that may take it out of service temporarily.
On the fuel farm, the presenter said the airport has asked whether a CMAR (construction manager at risk) delivery method is permitted; staff expect a response from FAA staff (Joe) and, if approved, the airport will bid the project for spring construction.
The board did not vote on procurement actions at the meeting; staff said they will proceed once FAA guidance is received.
