Commission approves Order of Conditions with special conditions for 180 River Street marine work

The commission approved an Order of Conditions at its Dec. 1 meeting for the application filed by Captain Joseph H. O'Connell Company Inc. for work at 180 River Street.

Staff said revised plans and supplemental materials addressed outstanding items related to existing structures, dimensions and construction details. The approval included special conditions requiring a letter of approval from relevant marine authorities prior to work, compliance with chapter 91 licensing and Army Corps permitting where applicable, and that any landward construction beyond mean high water would require an amended Order of Conditions and separate filings.

The applicant’s representative confirmed understanding of the conditions and that some existing piles and floats are being accepted as to size and location only; new construction below mean high water will require additional permitting. The commission moved, seconded and approved the order with the stated conditions on a roll‑call vote.
