Commission establishes industrial district and approves facilities-exemption for Falk production facility

The commission voted to establish an industrial development district and to approve a facilities-exemption certificate for a Falk production facility at 1920 Northridge NW.

Economic development staff described the project as an 82,500-square-foot production facility that will add 14 jobs with wage ranges between $25 and $55 an hour. Staff provided a projection table showing a total real-property investment of about $8.8 million and estimated the value to the city over the life of the 12-year abatement at roughly $337,000 (city portion of an estimated $1.8 million value spread over the abatement period).

Commissioners had the project's projection table and discussed anticipated tax revenues; the items passed following the public hearing noted earlier in the process.
