Key approvals included:
- Approval of prior minutes (Oct. 28 and Nov. 11, 2025).
- Approval of the 2025 property tax equivalent (pilot payment) from Wausau Waterworks; staff said the amount equals prior years’ payments.
- Formal approval of an animal impoundment services agreement and a two‑year municipality held‑for‑cause services agreement with the Marathon County Humane Society covering Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2027.
- Approval of a joint powers agreement with Marathon County related to the NG911 system.
- Approval of a budget modification for the legal department to cover escalating legal expenses; the committee approved a second modification this year.
- Approval of a lease extension with the Church of the Resurrection for a parcel that will remain green space; committee members confirmed the annual rent will remain $1 and the city attorney noted the lease automatically renews unless terminated with 30 days’ notice.
All the above motions were approved by voice vote with no roll call recorded; where recorded motions were moved by Alder Watson and seconded by other members as noted in the minutes.
