Nogales council approves Chamber, Port Authority and renovation contracts

The Nogales City Council voted unanimously by voice to approve three agenda orders during the special session.

Council approved Order 2025-11-038, a professional service agreement with the Nogales Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce; Order 2025-11-039, a professional service agreement with the Greater Nogales Santa Cruz County Port Authority; and Order 2025-11-040, a construction services agreement with McKinstry and Central LLC to renovate the Nogales Administrative Service Building. A council member moved and a second was recorded for each item; each motion passed after a brief discussion and a voice 'Aye' vote.

Councilors said the McKinstry renovation will expand office space, provide more parking and add community benefits such as an adjoining park expansion. Kramer said the construction firm expects to invest roughly $1,000,000 in the project through construction activities and local subcontracting. Council asked for copies of the Chamber and Port Authority contracts; staff said the documents are in the meeting packet.

These approvals were voice votes with no roll‑call tallies recorded in the public session. Council moved on to an executive session and later adjourned the special meeting.
