Kankakee committee approves minutes and October bills, schedules enforcement and permit follow-ups

KANKAKEE, Ill. — The Building & Code Safety Committee approved minutes from its Oct. 16 meeting and voted to approve bills for October, received the director's report, and set follow-up items for future meetings.

Minutes and bills: A motion to approve the Oct. 16 minutes was made, seconded and approved by roll call (5 ayes, 2 absent). The committee then approved October bills totaling $2,668.86 by roll call with the same outcome.

Director's report: Committee members were directed to the director's 12-page adjudication report and a seven-page monthly permits listing. The director reported that staff issued 108 permits in October and collected $16,423.08 in fees.

Next steps: The committee put trash-can enforcement timing and notification procedures on the next agenda for the ordinance committee to draft and consider language. No executive session was held and the meeting adjourned with Thanksgiving wishes.
