Board approves consent agenda; camera down, insurance quotes delayed, NAMI opens drop-in center

The McHenry County Mental Health Board completed routine business, approving the prior meeting minutes and a consent agenda of items 6A–6D. The chair called for a motion to approve the minutes; the motion was made and seconded and the board announced the motion passed. Later the consent agenda was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.

Operations staff reported technical issues with the meeting camera. "Our camera was broken last time," Bridget said, noting the device was removed for repair and streaming continued via in-room projection and audio. Staff also pointed to a new exterior sign and ongoing work with current tenants about sign listings.

Staff provided a brief insurance update: changes in the insurance market require moving directors-and-officers coverage to a different carrier and writing harassment coverage as a separate policy. Underwriting remains in progress and staff said formal approval will be deferred to the December meeting.

Chair noted that NAMI purchased a building and will open a drop-in center that uses a living-room model; the board’s front office space will be available for rent after planned rehab. The chair also noted ongoing hiring for Bridget’s administrative assistant position with two finalists under consideration.

The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn.

Next steps: staff will return insurance quotes at the December meeting and continue hiring work for the administrative assistant role.
