Council places several board nominees on the formal meeting consent agenda

Four nominees introduced themselves at the Nov. 18 work session and described their backgrounds ahead of a consent-agenda placement for the formal meeting. Austin Whitehead said he lives in Liberty Wells and is a master's student in urban planning, offering to help public lands planning; Janice Kimball said she has served nonprofit boards and works with Housing Connect; Thomas (Tom) Merrill described long-term downtown residence and interests in outdoor space; and Christian Chavez said he grew up on the West Side and works in health-care contracting.

Why it matters: These are routine advisory-board and commission nominations. The chair said the council will place each name on the consent agenda for tonight
s formal meeting; nominees need not be present for consent-adoption. No substantive debate or votes occurred in the work session.
