Tim Stubblefield elected chairman pro tem of Coffee County Commission

Tim Stubblefield was elected chairman pro tem of the Coffee County Commission after nominations and a runoff vote. Nominations opened and included Tim Stubblefield and Dwight Miller. Commissioners moved to cease nominations and proceeded to a roll‑call/voice vote process that eliminated the lowest vote getter and produced a final tally of 13 votes for Stubblefield.

The chair explained the process used for subsequent revotes: the lowest vote getter is dropped and commissioners revote from the remaining names until a candidate receives the minimum 10 votes required by the full body. When Stubblefield received 13 votes in the final round, the chair declared the result official and thanked Commissioner Miller for allowing his name to be placed on the floor.

Commissioners discussed seating for future meetings and camera placement; the chair noted that Stubblefield will sit in the pro tem position at the next meeting.
