Opioid funding report: Greene County received roughly $141,000 in 2025 and plans to restart family program

Nicole Noel presented the county's 2025 opioid funding report, telling commissioners the county received approximately $40,004.90 in unrestricted funds and a little more than $101,000 in restricted (abatement) funds in 2025. She said those totals are essentially in line with state estimates and that county staff have already spent some 2025 funds in both categories.

Noel said the county plans to restart a Strengthening Families program next year and is looking forward to putting more funds to use once the program is up and running. "We are putting those funds to use," she told the board.

Commissioners asked a few clarifying questions and expressed support for deploying the funds to county programs. Noel confirmed a small difference (about $900) between the county's restricted funds and the state estimate but characterized the totals as "pretty close." No specific budget or vendor decisions were recorded during the presentation; staff indicated additional spending plans would follow once program planning advances.

The presentation was informational; no vote on opioid program spending was recorded during the meeting. Staff indicated further program work and funding use would continue into the next year.
