The Harnett County Board of Commissioners approved the library’s recommendation to award the mobile outreach vehicle contract to TechOps Specialty Vehicles.
Library staff said eight bids were received and an administrative review team used a rubric, interviews and reference checks to shortlist three vendors. Kimberly VanVette said TechOps was identified as the best fit because its proposal included accessibility and operational features not present in lower-cost bids, including dual carrier capabilities, a wheelchair lift and a leveling system. VanVette said the bids were higher than a year ago due to industry cost increases but that the finance office confirmed sufficient funds were available in the library’s budget.
A motion to accept TechOps as the selected vendor was made and the board approved the award by voice vote.
