The Edina City Council opened its Nov. 18 meeting with ceremonial items. The council adopted a proclamation recognizing Nov. 8–15, 2025 as Kindness Week Worldwide and invited community participation; Amy Spangler of International Kindness Reset accepted and described local curriculum and programs that promote kindness in schools and workplaces.
Later the council proclaimed Nov. 29, 2025 as Small Business Saturday in Edina; Rebecca Sorensen (Fiftieth and France Business Association) thanked the council and previewed tree-lighting, menorah lighting and holiday events intended to boost downtown retail.
The council also recognized Braemar Golf Course after the Minnesota Golf Association named it member club of the year; John Mays of the MGA praised Braemar’s leadership on adaptive golf programming and community engagement and Braemar staff accepted the award.
These items were adopted by unanimous voice votes and included brief remarks and photo opportunities.
