Tinian delegation adopts resolution honoring Lt. Gov. Diego Tenorio Benavente

The Tinian/Talaga Legislative Delegation on a unanimous vote adopted Commemorative Resolution 24-02 recognizing Lieutenant Governor Diego Tenorio Benavente for his “long lasting dedication and contribution” to Tinian and the Northern Mariana Islands.

The chair told members the lieutenant governor had been scheduled to attend but was unable to come because of an unforeseen circumstance; delegation leaders and community members visited him and presented the resolution. "He was very grateful," the chair said, adding that Benavente expressed regret he could not be present to accept the honor in person.

Clerk-conducted roll call showed four members voting in the affirmative and the chair announced the resolution was adopted. The delegation noted the resolution had been introduced by the committee of the whole and placed on the calendar for action.

The adoption was procedural and ceremonial; there was no recorded opposition, no amendment to the resolution, and no follow-up action recorded on the floor. The delegation moved on to its bill calendar after the vote.
