The Parks & Events Commission handled several procedural items at its Nov. 12 meeting, including agenda edits, minutes approval and leadership nominations.
Chair Emily Anderson opened the meeting and proposed procedural changes — striking a duplicate agenda entry (item 7) and reordering business so the cricket pitch presentation and the commission’s internal elections would occur earlier. Commissioners approved the agenda amendment by unanimous voice vote.
The commission unanimously approved minutes from its Sept. 9, 2025 meeting following a motion by Commissioner Renee Price and a second by Commissioner Kelly Evertz.
During the nominations for 2026 leadership, Commissioner Paul Swam nominated Renee Price for chair, and the commission unanimously approved the nomination. Commissioner Emily Anderson nominated Amanda Frayton for vice chair; commissioners seconded and approved the vice chair nomination unanimously. Chair Anderson said she would meet individually with the incoming officers to review responsibilities and expectations.
All procedural votes were recorded as unanimous among commissioners present at the time. Staff noted the new mayoral administration begins in January and recommended orienting the new chair and vice chair ahead of that transition.
